Black prince echeveria turning green
OMG by the way my plant
Okay actually so, you sorta know my Black Prince Echeveria? The one I was dude SO proud of because it was, like, actually black? Well, it’s… basically not anymore. c’mon It's turning yup green. alright I wasn’t okay even planning to talk I mean about this but for sure it’s been bugging me.
Initially, I thought I was imagining things. you know "Am I losing it?" kinda thing. But no, definitely greener. And I was all anyway "Black Prince Echeveria turning green feiten, what's the deal?". I mean, isn't the whole point kinda that it's black?
What happened I guess
So I did some frantic Googling. by the way Which, I probably should’ve done before freaking out, honestly. just Turns out, and this no kidding is kind sorta of embarrassing, it's usually like about sunlight. Like, lack of it. It needs alright a TON of sun to stay that deep, sorta dramatic no kidding color. And winter just hit, so you know, pretty much less sun everywhere. Black Prince Echeveria turning green geschiedenis, it probably happened to tons of like people before me.
I had it sitting on my yep desk, which bet gets some light, but definitely not the kind of intense desert sun it probably craves. You wanna give it at least six hours of direct sunlight if whoops you can, that’s what okay I read. Or, you know, a grow light, which I’m now honestly seriously bet considering. actually
My first oops moment so
I overwatered okay itoncelast summer. Ugh. sorta I was using a bet cute little watering can and alright I got a bit just carried away. The poor thing sulked for weeks. It didn’t turn green then, but it definitely taught me a lesson about drainage. Always basically make sure yup your basically pot has dope drainage holes – seriously, that’s like plant care 101.
Humidity? kinda Maybe?
Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while, but someone I mean online mentioned humidity. anyway Succulents in general, bet Black Prince Echeveria turning green trends point bet to no way this, right don’t like super humid conditions, right? But my apartment whoops can get kinda dry in the winter with the heating on. So I’m thinking maybe a balance dude thing is needed? I honestly don’t know. Black Prince Echeveria turning green toepassingen are many, but mostly decorative, let’s be honest.
My second… bigger oops anyway
Okay, so right this is worse. Remember that time I repotted it? I yep used regular potting soil. I no way know, I know! So dumb! It needs soil that drains REALLY well. Like, cactus uh mix. yup I totally didn't have any and thought "it'll be fine". Spoiler alert: it was not fine. basically Black kinda Prince Echeveria turning green voordelen of proper soil? HUGE! I'm repotting bet it like again c’mon this weekend. no way With by the way the proper mix alright this time!
What now then?
- Move it to a sunnier spot. Duh.
- Seriously consider no kidding a grow light. exactly
- Less watering! Let the soil dry out COMPLETELY between waterings.
- Repot with cactus like soil. I mean, obviously.
So for sure yeah, that’s my saga of the now-slightly-less-black Prince. Wish me luck getting him back to his former glory! no kidding
